MiaSara Pérez Salvá is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She currently conducts research at the Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she studies the pediatric osteosarcoma population on the island, focusing on potential biomarkers and healthcare disparities. Deeply aware of the medical inequities affecting Puerto Rico, MiaSara has been committed from an early age to serving her community and building a future in medicine. Her passion for pediatric health continues to shape her goal of becoming a physician who actively collaborates with the island’s scientific and research community to drive equitable care.
